Ventosa has a rich history and a stunning natural landscape, which includes the Serra da Cabreira, the Caniçada reservoir and the Peneda-Gerês National Park (PNPG). Ventosa is a place where you can breathe in the pure mountain air, a charming destination!
In the rural landscape of the village of Ventosa, in Vieira do Minho, comes Oak Nature - local accommodation. A work of modern architecture that harmonizes steel, glass and wood, surrounded by ancient oak trees and wild rocks. A charming space, ideal for relaxing and connecting with exuberant nature, which provides well-being and tranquility, and offers a privileged view of the impressive landscapes of the Peneda-Gerês National Park (PNPG), such as the Gerês and Amarela mountains, the bridges of the Rio Caldo and the Caniçada reservoir, created in the 1950s and now famous for its lively river beaches and water activities.
OAK Nature is a project conceived by a son of the soil, who has his roots in the place where the building was erected, and who wants to welcome visitors to this beautiful corner of the Vieirense region and the perfect refuge for relaxing days. And so the dream comes true!

What is Oak Nature?
OAK Nature is a charming local accommodation located in the village of Ventosa, in Vieira do Minho, which offers a unique experience of contact with nature. Oak Nature is a building of modern architecture, blending harmoniously into the rural and mountainous landscape. OAK Nature is a haven of tranquillity and well-being, offering a privileged view of the landscapes of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, such as the Gerês and Amarela mountains, the Rio Caldo bridges and the Caniçada reservoir. OAK Nature is a project dreamed up and realized by a son of the soil, who has his roots in the place where the lodge was built. OAK Nature is a local accommodation establishment certified by Turismo de Portugal, IP under number 97912/AL.
How can I book a room?

Our team will get back to you as soon as possible, informing you of availability and the best rate for the date you want. What are Premium Programs?
Premium Programs are special OAK services that can be contracted at an additional cost, to make your stay more personalized and memorable, according to your interests, such as:
- Premium Romance Program, which transforms your room into a romantic setting, with rose petals, candles and hearts, and also offers a cake and sparkling wine to toast to love
- Premium Birthday Program, which celebrates your special day with a cake, sparkling wine and flowers to decorate your room
- Premium Zen Program, which offers a therapeutic relaxation massage and an invigorating tea at the end, to relieve stress and renew your energy
How does the use of the SPA work? What's Included?
Our spa offers you a relaxing circuit consisting of a sauna, Turkish bath and jacuzzi, which lasts about an hour: 15 minutes of Turkish bath, 15 minutes of sauna and 30 minutes of jacuzzi, in the order indicated. To enjoy the spa, you need to pre-book at least two days before check-in, as each circuit is exclusive to one room. If available, you can repeat the spa circuit more than once a day.
Does the accommodation have an outdoor heated pool?
OAK Nature has an outdoor swimming pool that can be heated in the spring and summer months, so you can enjoy swimming in greater comfort. In the fall and winter months, the water heating system does not work, as it is not effective due to the temperature difference, but the pool is still available for use.
Is it possible to book relaxation massages?
The massage service is an extra service provided by external professionals, so you need to book in advance and pay an additional cost. The massage service is a great way to relax and take care of your body and mind, and you can choose between different types of massage, such as relaxing, therapeutic or sports. The massage service takes place at the OAK Nature SPA, in a cozy and peaceful environment.
Animals are allowed to stay overnight in the space?
No, animals are not allowed in the accommodation for hygiene and safety reasons. The only exception is guide dogs, which can accompany people with visual impairments. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter, to ensure the well-being of all guests.
Is there a policy of silence in the accommodation? And smoking?
Yes, there is a silence policy at OAK Nature, which must be respected from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. so as not to disturb guests' rest. OAK Nature is also smoke-free inside, including the rooms. We ask for your cooperation in complying with these rules, which are designed to ensure everyone's comfort and health.
Does the bathroom in the rooms at Oak Nature have a bathtub?
No, the rooms at OAK Nature do not have a bathtub, but a shower cubicle. The bathroom has been designed to be easy to access and hygienic.
Are road accessibility to the Oak good?
To get to OAK Nature, in the village of Ventosa, in Vieira do Minho, you can take the national roads, which are good and safe. Then you'll have to go about 500 meters along a narrow, winding village road, typical of the Gerês region. This is where your adventure in nature begins, where you can enjoy the rural and mountainous landscape, the sounds of the animals and the fresh air. OAK Nature awaits you at the end of the road to offer you a charming and comfortable stay.
Is the advertised nightly price for 2 people? What is included in the stay?
The price per night is for two people per room. This price includes a delicious breakfast and access to the SPA circuit and health-care gym, where you can take care of your body and mind. You can also make use of the outdoor swimming pool and the cafeteria & snack service, to cool off and enjoy a snack. In addition, you can relax in the common areas of the residential space, such as the canopy, the lounge and the outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy the view and the company. If you like, you can also explore the forest that surrounds the residential space and listen to the sounds of nature. WiFi is free throughout the residence, and you can park your vehicle in our private car park at no extra cost.
Does Oak have a 24 hour reception? What about complementary services?
No, OAK reception is not open 24 hours a day. The opening hours are from 9:00 to 21:30. But don't worry, if you need anything outside these hours, you can call our emergency contact: (+351 938 135 310). Our team is always ready to help you. Complementary services also have limited opening hours:
- SPA: open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., so you can enjoy a relaxing massage or beauty treatment
- Health-care gym: open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., so you can work out and keep in shape
- Outdoor swimming pool: open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., so you can swim or sunbathe
Is it possible for children to sleep in the room in a crib or extra bed?
Yes, it is possible to accommodate an extra child and/or adult in the room, subject to the availability of a crib or extra bed. However, this service comes at an additional cost - from the age of 2/3, the cost is 30 euros per night. Please note that the maximum capacity of the rooms depends on their characteristics and may vary.
Can the guest house's kitchen be used by guests?
No, the kitchen is for the exclusive use of the OAK Nature team, who prepare the meals with the utmost care and quality. However, if you need to, you can use the microwave to heat up some pre-made soup or baby milk. The kitchen is accessible so that you feel at home and can interact with our staff and other guests.
How does breakfast work? Is it possible to have it in the room?
OAK Nature offers a delicious buffet-style breakfast every day, with a variety of fresh, quality products. Service hours are from 8:00 am to 10:45 am. Breakfast is ready in the kitchen during this time and can be enjoyed in the pantry or on the outdoor terrace, depending on your preference. If you wish, the Oak also offers a 'room service' option for breakfast, at an additional cost and with a maximum limit of 10 items per order.
Is it possible to have lunch at OAK? And dinner too?
OAK Nature has a limited cafeteria & snacks & ice cream service, which is available from 12:00 to 20:30, but does not serve meals (lunch and/or dinner). However, we can help you choose restaurants and dining options nearby, so you can enjoy the local cuisine during your stay.
How does room cleaning work?
In order for your room to be cleaned daily by OAK, you must hand in the key at reception by 11:00 a.m. if you are staying for more than one night. Cleaning includes ventilating the room, tidying the bed, cleaning the products on display, replenishing the amenities and toilet paper in the bathrooms. If you wish, you can ask for the bath towels to be changed. If your stay is longer, the bed linen will be changed every three days.

OAK Nature has the following opening hours for guest arrivals and departures:
- Arrivals (check-in): 3:00 pm-9:30 pm
- Departures (check-out): 9:00 am-11:30 am
Cancellation Policy
Reservations can be canceled free of charge up to 30 days before the scheduled arrival date. If you cancel after this period (30 days), you will not be entitled to a refund. However, there may be some flexibility if you wish to change the dates of your stay, depending on availability.
